Stretching
Do we know the types and use of stretching?
Everyone, whether they play sports or not, has heard at some point about stretching and its relationship to physical exercise. But very few could answer about the different types of stretches and uses depending on our goal at each moment of physical activity.
The first thing before explaining the types of stretches and the use that we must give to each of them, we will have to know what the stretching of a muscle consists of.
Stretching is an action where the muscle undergoes tension and through which it undergoes longitudinal elongation. Depending on the time that this elongation lasts and the speed with which it is applied, determine the type of stretch.
In this aspect we can classify stretching as static and dynamic
Static: A joint position is maintained that subjects one or more muscles to elongation without causing movement of said joint.
Assets: The movement is achieved through the contraction of the muscles that move the joint of the individual performing the stretch. The goal of dynamic stretches will depend on whether we perform a slow dynamic stretch or a fast dynamic, high speed or ballistic stretch.
Regardless of the type of stretch, they are classified according to position: relaxed, forced, assisted, resisted, etc.
To know what type of stretch is the most useful we will have to determine what our goal is.
If we do static stretching, our goals will be in search of:
