Walking makes you lose weight, but …

Does walking make you lose weight? Yes, if we are at the beginning of our slimming path, yes, if we do it to reduce general sedentary lifestyle, yes if we combine walking with other strategies to lose weight.
But if walking makes you lose weight, why don’t I lose weight?
This is one of the questions you ask me the most. And the answer is very simple, actually.
Because the body adapts. Our body always tends to find a point of balance.

The same thing happens when we go to the gym but after a while we no longer see progress: people always do the same things, many women for fear of gaining muscle mass for example never push themselves further with weights, lifting the same loads For years.
At that point it is very difficult to see results.
Walking is really useful for our cardiovascular health, to reduce sedentary lifestyle, to reduce stress, but it cannot be our only slimming strategy if not in the first term.
At some point, to prevent the body from adapting, we need to differentiate our training routine.
How? For example, inserting short workouts three or four times a week , as long as they are intense: for example, you can train one hour three times a week, with weights or other anaerobic activities.
Otherwise, try high intensity for half an hour every day, along with the daily walk.
In short: it takes more than a good hike to lose weight, especially if you are used to walking and don’t get out of breath.
