The hunter / grower diet for obese

The hunter / grower diet for obese

In recent years, a third path has opened up between the success of low-fat, low-fat , carbohydrate-rich diets for obese people like Pritikin , but high in carbohydrates, and the success of low-carb, high-fat diets such as ketogenic.

Since both of these approaches ensure drastic weight loss but are not free from side effects, some researchers have wondered if there were any commonalities that accounted for the success of these diets.

The answer would be called “modified H / R diet” or hunter / grower diet and it would be a diet for the obese that acts in the intestine allowing effective weight loss.

This diet for the obese allows you to lose weight very quickly because it reduces intestinal exposure to endotoxins, that is that common point that explains why many people lose many kilos in a short time or with a very low fat diet (10%) or with a very low carbohydrate diet (5-10%).

This “common point” would be precisely the reduction of lipopolysaccharides or LPS . It is a component of the cell barrier of gram-negative bacteria that is linked to overweight, metabolic syndrome and increased cholesterol production. In this article we see a practical example of a diet for obese HR, modified according to the results of this study.

You may be wondering, ok, but what are we talking about in simple terms?

  • What is a modified HR obese diet?
  • This is a very simple diet that breaks the day into two parts.
From seven in the morning to seven in the evening we eat in one way, from seven in the evening to seven in the morning in another. You essentially eat three meals, not counting calories but eating enough to fill up.
  • In the first part of the day, more carbohydrates are consumed, in the second part more fats and proteins. Let’s see the diagram on page two.
