The 1-day diet after Carnival

The diet after Carnival is a regimen limited in the amount of sugar and fat, ideal as a diet of the day after. For example, it can be done the day after Shrove Thursday or Shrove Tuesday, but it can be extended for a maximum of 2 days.

The diet is combined with two very simple DIY herbal teas with a hypoglycemic effect.
It is a low-calorie diet that allows us to eat often and not feel on a diet.

The principle of the diet after Carnival is to make several snacks to stabilize the blood sugar level.

In this way we can therefore avoid the imbalances that can arise in the transition from a period in which we ate a lot of sugars to a sugar-free diet to detoxify.

Like any lightning diet, this diet shouldn’t be extended for more than two consecutive days as it only provides 1100 calories per day. For those who want to do a three-day diet , find a detoxifying menu in this article. 

THE DIET AFTER CARNIVAL

Breakfast.

  • A glass of lemon juice and cinnamon herbal tea that is obtained by cooking a cinnamon stick in two cups of water with a sliced ​​lemon or citron, complete with peel, therefore organic and untreated. The herbal tea should be drunk upon awakening.
  • 150 grams of skimmed and white delactosed Greek yogurt with stevia or other sweetener or same amount of soy yogurt + a teaspoon of wheat germ or oats and stevia.
  • A cup of unsweetened tea or coffee with stevia.

  • 1 slice of rye bread weighing 30 grams or two Wasa slices or two rice cakes + a spoonful of apple compote in all.

Snack 1
5 almonds.

Snack 2
100 grams of carrot + 5 grams of extra dark chocolate.
Alternatively: 125 grams of blueberries with a teaspoon of Greek yogurt and stevia.

Lunch

  • A 116-gram tin of natural tuna, drained, with a portion of rocket and some cherry tomatoes, 3 chopped green or black olives, a little apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. No oil.
  • As an alternative to tuna : 100 grams of canned corona or white sponge beans, drained.
  • Two tangerines or half an orange.

  • A herbal tea obtained by boiling a cup full of water with a piece of fresh ginger root, a teaspoon of turmeric and a pinch of pepper + a handful of dried mint. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes over low heat, strain and drink half a glass after lunch and dinner.

Snack
5 almonds + 2 slices of pineapple also in juice, but not in syrup, or half an orange or 4 pitted prunes as an alternative to pineapple + a second cup of lemon juice and cinnamon tea (the one in the morning).

An hour before dinner: two cucumbers or half a fennel + 20 grams of Grana Padano or Asiago.
Alternatively: smoothie with 100 ml of soy milk + 50 grams of pear + a quarter of fennel.

Dinner

  • 100 grams of defatted veal fillet or 120 grams of turkey breast or omelette of two “small” eggs with chopped herbs, cooked in a non-stick pan.
  • 200 grams of mushrooms stir-fried with garlic and parsley, salt and pepper + 100 grams of boiled potato.
  • Vegan alternative: 40 grams of soy or rice noodles stir-fried with 200 grams of mushrooms, a level teaspoon of oil, gomasio instead of salt, 50 grams of natural or grilled tofu in chunks, aromatic herbs of your choice.

Before sleep. 200 ml of warm skimmed or soy milk.
