Spirulina for healthy hair 

Spirulina is a microalgae rich in vitamins and minerals that are very important to rebuild the very structure of which the hair, but also the nails and skin are made. In fact, it contains the essential amino acids that are used to synthesize keratin , a substance that makes hair and nails strong and robust.

Spirulina algae is also rich in vitamin A , which has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the sebaceous glands, and in vitamin E , a fundamental vitamin for giving elasticity and softness to the tissues. The vitamins of group B , also present, stimulate the metabolism of the skin, providing oxygen and making the bulbs and hair stronger and more resistant. We also find traces of vitamin D, vitamin K; calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, manganese, copper, selenium among the minerals.

The presence of these precious nutrients and the high assimilation of the same by the body , allow to act by braking the action of free radicals , and therefore slowing down the gradual and natural aging process, including the appearance of white hair. Research has shown that spirulina also strengthens the immune system and benefits the body, purifying and strengthening it.  

How to take spirulina 

There are really many natural supplements based on spirulina on the market. Their use does not ignore a consultation with a general practitioner or a specialist , who will be able to advise you on the most suitable dosages and type of treatment.

Usually spirulina-based tablets can be taken during periods of greater mental and physical fatigue , or during the change of season, when the hair also tends to fall more and weaken.

Spirulina powder is also easily found , always better to check that it is organic and of certified origin, with a process that keeps its properties intact, with which healthy  smoothies can be prepared . 

The amount of spirulina to be taken , as anticipated, depends on various factors and is personal; indicatively, for an adult, the recommended dosage ranges from 3 to 5 grams per day; immediately after taking it, it is good to drink an orange juice or eat a kiwi, foods rich in vitamin C, to favor its absorption .

Spirulina for hair care 

Spirulina can also be used in powder form, to enrich shampoo , conditioner or other hair treatments and packs. If desired, you can prepare a natural hair pack based on spirulina,  fortifying and anti-breakage, based on powdered spirulina algae, natural henna or sidr, ghassoul or amla powder .

You can soften everything with linseed gel or chia, or with corn starch gel, previously prepared. Add a few drops of nourishing oil or honey to complete everything, mix well, apply and leave on, covering with film or a towel, for about twenty minutes before proceeding with rinsing and washing. delicate. The external use of spirulina is very suitable for both curly hair and weak, brittle hair that tends to fall out.
