Hot chocolate for breakfast
An amazing recipe, with vegetable milk and malt if we want to make it in a vegan key, or with honey if we want the traditional alternative. A hot chocolate that works like a smoothie , but is ideal for the winter.
We can drink it instead of the traditional breakfast if we want to start the day with a nice creamy and chocolaty cuddle! It is also ready in a flash, just mix the ingredients the night before.
Plus, it provides 310 calories in total, perfect for a healthy, dietary yet balanced breakfast.
I got the recipe for this hot chocolate for breakfast from Running with Spoons.
Here it is for you.
HOT CHOCOLATE FOR BREAKFAST
Ingrediants:
- 300 ml of light almond milk with no added sugar (also rice, oats, coconut)
- 10 grams of chocolate chips
- a heaping teaspoon of honey or malt
- 40 grams of oat flakes (if you take the Prozis Oatmeal – Chocolate Chip Oats, 1er Pack (1 X 1.25 kg) , eliminate the honey , saving about 30 calories and achieving a double chocolate taste )
- two teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa
- a drop of vanilla flavor
- a pinch of salt (optional) * For those who want a more protein version, halve the oat flakes and add half a scoop of whey powder (biscuit flavor, cocoa flavor, vanilla flavor).
Method.
- The night before, blend all the ingredients in a blender, apart from the chocolate drops.
- Pour the mixture into a large cup, cover with cling film and keep in the fridge.
- In the morning, pour the contents into a saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, for about 7-8 minutes. The hot chocolate will become creamy, somewhere between a porridge and a cream.
- Add the chocolate chips and eat right away. Nutritional values of hot chocolate for breakfast.
