Why your doctor needs to offer help with weight loss

This new study from Duke University reaffirms something that happens on the skin of many people who find themselves having to lose weight because the doctor asks for it.

That is, a group of researchers analyzed the behaviors of people whose treating doctor said they should lose weight, and their success in losing weight based on the type of recommendations.

BECAUSE YOUR DOCTOR IS COUNTING IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TOO MUCH KILOS

And here comes the bitter truth. That is, that those who only received generic recommendations from the doctor on the importance of losing weight, but without a valid help to lose weight, therefore without a diet program, lost less weight according to the researchers.
And unfortunately this happens often.

Many of my readers complain of a similar problem.
They go to the doctor, the doctor tells them that they need to lose weight, but without providing a dietary and practical plan to be able to do it. The recommendations boil down to “eat healthier” and “exercise more”. Which people obviously already know.
Responsibility for how is left to the patient.

If your doctor gives you a diet plan to stick to, weight loss is easier and better than a few general recommendations.

I had already highlighted this trend in another article , which explains how important it is for the treating doctor to spend more time with the overweight or obese patient. And that even just 30 seconds more would be enough.

AID TO LOSE WEIGHT IS NOT AID, BUT A RIGHT

And if the patient is obese, and if today we have officially established that obesity is a disease, the patient would be entitled to a free diet plan.
If your doctor is unable to give you other recommendations, you can insist and have a balanced diet plan as a basis for starting.
This free guide from the Aosta Valley ASL , with a diet plan, a list of foods and a table for portions, can be a first step for those who are obese.
