The three best diets of the year

Every year the  US News & World Report  together with a committee of dieticians and nutritionists from all over the world analyzes about fifty diets that have depopulated the world for twelve months.
This is according to their effectiveness not only in determining weight loss but in improving health parameters.

And at the end of each year, it draws up a ranking with the best diets of the year.
This ranking has changed very little in recent years, at least for the first two places, while instead there is always some news in third or fourth place.
Here are the three best diets of the year worldwide.

THE 3 BEST DIETS OF THE YEAR

  1. Mediterranean diet.
The Mediterranean diet takes first place as the best diet in the world.
But what is meant by the Mediterranean diet?
We mean a diet with only whole grains, that is, in grains, or whole grain products, such as wholemeal pasta or wholemeal bread, vegetables, tubers and fruit on a daily basis. Every day they should also be consumed: milk and low-fat dairy products, quality aged cheeses, legumes, olive oil and a few nuts. Fish, poultry and eggs should be eaten weekly, red meat once in a while, sweets occasionally, for example only on Sundays.

When people think about doing the Mediterranean diet, they very often eat sweets every day and eat too much fat and too little natural food. The Mediterranean diet that is being studied on a scientific level is that of the food pyramid, which in practical terms is very similar to the Cretan or Cypriot diet , and not to the modern Italian one.

  2. Dash diet.
The Dash diet is a dietary protocol similar to the Mediterranean diet, but specific for those with hypertension, high cholesterol and cardiovascular problems.
Compared to the Mediterranean diet, the proportion of fats is reduced, as is the consumption of salt, avoiding industrial products. A perfect diet also to increase insulin sensitivity.

  3. Flexitarian diet in ex aequo with the Mind diet.
The flexitarian diet is a vegan / vegetarian transition diet, with very little animal-type protein. Ideal for those who want to follow a vegan dietary approach without completely giving up on foods of animal origin. Find an example of a Flexitarian Diet here.

The Mind diet , on the other hand, is a “scientific” diet that has some points in common with the Mediterranean diet and the Dash diet, and is designed to live a long time and reduce the risks of senile dementia and cognitive decline, but also the risks of cardiovascular health . Compared to the first two diets, the Mind diet encourages the consumption of certain functional foods for health, such as red fruits, citrus fruits, fish. Here is the Mind diet in detail.
