The diet of Dr. Nowzaradan di Vite to the limit
Perhaps many of you already know who Dr. Nowzaradan is . He is an Iranian-born doctor who is considered one of the leading specialists in bariatric surgery and obesity treatment in the United States.
The popularity of its Houston Obesity Surgery center has grown thanks to the Lives on the Edge program .
The program follows the events of some very serious obese, whose weight ranges from 250 to 400 kilos, to make them return to a normal life thanks to the intervention of Dr. Nowzaradan.
Those who follow Lives at the limit know that for the first months before surgery, the doctor asks his patients to follow a very restrictive diet, ranging from 1200 to 800 calories per day.
It is a low carb diet , or a diet whose only carbohydrates come from vegetables and some vegetables, while the rest of the patient eats proteins.
Patients follow Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet for two reasons.
On the one hand, they must demonstrate that they are able to follow a very restrictive regime independently, that is, without hospitalization.
On the other hand, their state of severe obesity, which forces them to a life in bed or in a wheelchair, requires very drastic treatment before surgery.
This is because people lose 10 to 20 pounds per month immediately.
This diet is not recommended for people who have normal overweight or even a mild stage of obesity, and who can walk.
Perhaps for this reason, Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet isn’t on the internet, at least not in the 1200/800 calorie low carb version.
However, the same doctor makes known guidelines for men and women who want to lose weight both after surgery and in general for those who want to lose weight in a healthy way.
On page two I show you the two schemes, one for men, one for women, of Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet.
They are purely indicative, ie dietary advice.
However, they can be useful for people who are trying to lose weight.
