Psoriasis, a help from the (Mediterranean) diet

Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease that affects the skin, has unknown causes and no dietary protocol seems to actually help in the remission of symptoms or promote their regression or even healing. Despite this , there are many diets that seem to help people with psoriasis manage the disease, such as the Paleo autoimmune protocol or the Apollo method in Italy .

Today, a new study finds a positive correlation between the Mediterranean diet and the reduction of symptoms in people with psoriasis, at least according to the written statements of the users who answered the questionnaire, one thousand of them suffering from psoriasis: according to Dr. Céline Phan, of the ‘French hospital Mondor, those who appeared to adhere to the principles of the Mediterranean diet with greater consumption of fruit, vegetables, fish, legumes and whole grains and the use of olive oil, had a less severe and more manageable psoriasis than those who followed others food indications.

According to the doctor, the results show that the Mediterranean diet could reduce the course of psoriasis, making it less disabling over time.
