Researchers from the University of Washington are working on a project that would use laser beams to cool water. Military_laser_experiment

This discovery from what was reported by the first results would be useful to be able to cool the CPUs of various devices through the use of laser beams. the research is actually not entirely new because this discovery occurred for the first time as far back as 1995, but researchers at the University of Washington would have actually demonstrated the project by illuminating a water crystal with an IR laser, cooling it:

“In most cases, when you go to the cinema to see a movie and see the Star Wars lasers hit something, they heat up what they hit. This is the first example of a laser beam that will cool liquids such as water in conditions in which we find it every day (and therefore not treated, ed) “

These were the words used by the professor in charge of the research, who is now continuing to understand how to be able to lower the costs of the new IR lasers, so as to be able to mass produce them, and install them inside the new devices.
