How to succeed in doing a HIIT workout

HIIT training is that training that is done in a few minutes , and which is the basis of many fitness programs of recent years, among the most successful ones, for example the BBG by Kayla Itsines, or the short and intense workouts of Joe Wicks, British fitness star. The urbi et obi success of HIIT is simple to explain: it is done in a short time and makes you lose weight, allowing the metabolism to rise precisely due to the combination of high intensity, cardio and anaerobic work. A derivative of Tabata, and also the basis of many Crossfit workouts, HIIT workout is everywhere, and allows you to have excellent results in ten minutes a day or in half an hour three times a week.
The most ruthless recommend doing twenty minutes or half an hour every day.

It is also a democratic training, so to speak: you can also do it at home, often free body, without any dumbbells, no ropes, no steps for aerobics, at most a mat.
Said like this, it seems a CRAZY COOL, right?

You will have seen them here and videos in which they propose guides to download and we see damsels jumping, squatting, doing burpees and pushups with the speed of a hummingbird. But there are also guides for mothers who want to get back in shape,
for overweight people and so on. Among the most popular, besides Kayla’s programs is  Bodyboss , which promises incredible results in 12 weeks.

And it’s true: people lose a lot of weight with HIIT training. Not always, but on average, yes.
But as in all beautiful things, underneath there is the rip-off, or if not a whole rip-off, half a rip-off: it’s life, gentlemen. HIIT workout is NOT for everyone.
It is not for sedentary people, who have poor motor skills and little affinity for cardiovascular workouts.
It is not for people who have joint problems, because with those paws and leaps, if you are not careful you are playing with your knees or ankles.
Among the contraindications of HIIT there are precisely those on cardiovascular health: the case of journalist Andrew Marr a few years ago is famous in the United States, who suffered a heart attack (from which he recovered fortunately, but after months) doing a session of HIIT, which he often talked about, including here , urging people to be cautious with high intensity workouts. In addition to the danger of a heart attack and damage to the joints, among other contraindications we find : drops in blood sugar, blood pressure problems (for which those who suffer from high blood pressure simply have to give up), migraines, nausea, very high stress.
On page two, I’ll explain how to do a HIIT workout if you really want to try it, but taking into account that, if you have pressure problems and cardiovascular problems, you have to just give it up.
