With an official press release, Edizioni Star Comics and Lucca Comics & Game have announced that maestro Hirohiko Araki will be one of the guests of honor at the next edition of the festival. Araki is one of the best known and most famous mangaka masters of all time, and it is the first time that he will attend a foreign convention, making his participation even more important.
It will be an unmissable event for all Italian and European fans of the maestro, because they will finally be able to meet the visionary and revolutionary artist, creator of a unique artistic language, strongly characterizing and immediately recognizable. Below is an excerpt from the official press release:
“We believe that Araki’s two“ epochal ”days goes perfectly with this year’s theme, Becoming Human . In an era in which digital and the pervasiveness of technology make the concept of humanity increasingly vague and indefinite , we want to go back to talking about men – and we are excited and proud to be able to do it with an artist who has always put men and their way of living at the center of the inspiration of his works, making them the leitmotif as well as the main theme. In the mammoth work THE BIZARRE ADVENTURES OF JOJO , the Master tells us, in fact, of his admiration of him for men – showing how each character tries to unravel his destiny with his own strength – and of hisimmortality of the human spirit – even when the protagonists fail, their will and their “soul” are inherited by subsequent generations.
A further reason for pride is given by the never hidden predilection of the Maestro for Italy, for his art and culture: from Renaissance geniuses such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo – whose sculptures inspired the proverbial poses exhibited by the characters of JOJO – up to to modern stylists, Gucci and Bulgari above all, with whom various collaborations have been made. It is certainly no coincidence that JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES – VENTO AUREO is set in our country! “
If you too are a fan of the master Hirohiko Araki, awaits you at Lucca Comics & Games from next 30 and 31 October.
