High cholesterol and stress
Stress and cholesterol can travel in parallel and often cross and influence each other. Stress has really dangerous potential for our body. Let’s see how to keep it at bay, for our own good.
High cholesterol and stress, a perverse combination?Â
Cholesterol is necessary for our body and comes both from food, but to a minimum, and from our system that produces it naturally. So what happens when cholesterol exceeds the standard thresholds established by the control protocols ?
Surely we must check what we usually put under our teeth and change our diet because we may have put in place an incorrect diet, but we must also investigate what other cause may be present, which induces our body to produce excess cholesterol .
Distress and LDL cholesterol
Bad stress, technically defined as distress, leads to an increase in bad cholesterol , LDL.
Everything starts from our brain, especially from the hypothalamus where two hormones are produced, cortisol and adrenaline , which among the various effects support the blood flow to the brain and the release of greater energy.
These two hormones stimulate the production of cholesterol, specifically cortisol increases the concentrations of sugars which if not disposed of are transformed into fatty acids and cholesterol.
Stress often, but not always, also affects eating habits and pushes one’s “victim” to gratify themselves with inappropriate foods, rich in nutrients that create an insulin addiction , such as chocolate, sweets in general, carbohydrates … and yes thus creates a dangerous vicious circle.
Controlling stress and finding disposal channels is essential. Physical exercise, in particular brisk walking , is a very useful remedy because it helps to convey the excesses of stored sugars, lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels , controls blood pressure: in short, walking is good for you.

Remedies to control stress and cholesterol
We can combine movement and a balanced diet with some natural remedies  that help keep stress under control and reduce dangerous cholesterol levels.
Magnesium
Often magnesium  and stress are played a game of subtraction: magnesium deficiency can determine conditions of stress , fatigue, mood variability and, in addition to this, stress peaks cause a loss of magnesium due to the stimulation of hormones that facilitate it. consumption or dispersion.
This condition also affects the quality and duration of sleep , thus generating a perverse and adverse mechanism. It is therefore good to integrate the daily magnesium quotas for a certain period , in order to help psychophysical well-being, with the relaxation of muscles and tendons, promote restful sleep, support the central nervous system.
5-HTP
L-Tryptophan is an amino acid useful for treating stressful conditions, insomnia, fatigue. In nature we can draw on a safe source of tryptophan given by Griffonia .
In fact, the seeds of griffonia  contain the principle that interests us, 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) ,  precursor of serotonin. This remedy helps us to counteract fatigue, irritability, stress, insomnia problems and even headaches, because it increases the levels of serotonin , the hormone of good mood.
Vitamins of group B
B vitamins are a very useful complex in case of stress , because they are involved in the metabolic processes that transform food into energy .
In particular, B2, B3 and B6 are essential for the synthesis of serotonin. In case of stress, fatigue, nervousness, the B complex is also useful in association with magnesium to rebalance the body.
Fermented red rice
Fermented red rice is the useful remedy to keep cholesterol peaks under control. Despite being a natural preparation, it has some contraindications.
Its effectiveness is due to monacolin K , a molecule similar to the synthetic statins used in drugs for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia . It is necessary to alternate the administration of fermented red rice with plant sterols and to integrate coenzyme Q10 , useful for counteracting the side effects caused by statins on the muscles.
