A few minutes ago the I / O conference dedicated to developers and organized by Google ended , during which the Mountain View company announced its plans for virtual reality that will become the standard and will be supported by future Android devices: at the base of all this there will be a new device, a VR headset called Daydream .
In 2014 Google had launched the “simple” Cardboard but today here is a real high-tech VR viewer that will be available at the end of the year but on which developers can already access using all the tools necessary to create their own VR-ready apps. At first glance this viewer does not seem to bring who knows what new features, but as Google explained (and as you can see in the image), we will not only have the typical viewer to wear and in which the smartphone is inserted, but there will also be a sort of remote control that will allow you to interact with what we will see on the screen, in an even more realistic way than what has been possible up to now with the other viewers. On the controller we can see two buttons (with a + and a -) as well as a notch that could be an additional key to confirm the choices.
In terms of compatibility, the Daydream will be usable with many types of smartphones , provided of course that the hardware is powerful enough to take advantage of virtual reality technology; however, no information regarding the price . So we just have to wait for official releases and new information directly from Google.
