Electronic Arts has always been one of the companies most interested in the development and use of new technologies, especially if they are starting to trend. It is therefore not surprising that the US company has also set its sights on the now infamous VR technology , and in order not to miss the bandwagon of opportunities, it has thrown its head into it, founding a new laboratory with the unoriginal name of Frostbite . Labs!

The studio team will consist of a maximum of 40 people and will have to develop ways and uses of the viewers that are about to invade the market. These are the words of Patrick Soderlund in presenting the project at launch:

“Innovation is not something that you have to ask someone for, it is simply something that is part of our DNA, of the culture of our company. We want to look to the future and I strongly believe in the need to push towards innovation, to try to improve and overcome one’s limits. We need to look beyond and experiment without being afraid to push the limits of current and future technology. “

At the time of writing, the application of Frostbite Labs in the field of video game development is not certain, but as regards the creation of holograms and virtual entities with which to interact, in order to test the quality and explore the possibilities that VR technology can offer even the most famous software houses.
