Go on a diet… and become a prince charming!
It seems like a fairy tale that of the very young Jeffrey Kendal , a boy who decides to go on a diet, and as a result loses 31 kilos and becomes a real Disney cartoon prince charming. That he already had a noble soul and was a good boy had proved it even before his physical transformation : after his mother had been hit by a serious aneurysm, Jeffrey had decided to move in with her to take care of him all day, but from the stress he began to overeat, and his weight to soar.
Unfortunately this is a classic situation for many people who have to take care of a family member who is sick: assisting someone and finding yourself alone to do it is not easy at all, it is painful as well as very stressful. We forget about ourselves and often eat what happens, or use food to console ourselves, to help ourselves in a critical situation, to give ourselves strength, because we feel grounded. The reasons that lead people to gain weight are not just the result, as many believe, of an uncontrolled love of food and a congenital laziness. Unfortunately, the environment affects the relationship we have with food, and as Dr. George Blair West explains in a book that I will soon talk to you about, food addiction is perhaps the most subtle: we cannot not eat.
And at this point, as in the best fairy tales, help arrives. A friend of Jeffrey’s convinces him to join the gym to get fit together. And he transforms himself until he reaches the photo you see on the right. With the hair he has, he really looks like a Disney prince, and he keeps fit by only going to the gym once a week, and yoga the rest of the time. He now he counts the calories and pays attention to what he eats without using drastic measures. And the result shows!
