Foods for weight loss in the summer

Summer is not only the cross and the delight of many, who struggle with the latest costume fitting or feel dissatisfied with their weight. It is above all a great opportunity to lose weight.
Sun and fresh air not only help us to cover our needs for vitamin D , essential for regulating body weight, but they push us to go out, to have a more active life, and to feel the need to eat less.

The heat limits hunger, and instead makes us want fresh food, often raw (think salad), easy to prepare.

Food seasonality comes to our aid: fruit and vegetables with higher percentages of water, less dried fruit, fresher, lots of vegetables. This is why summer is the best season to rethink our relationship with food and improve our diet to nourish ourselves better on the one hand, and lose weight on the other.

These two things go hand in hand. If we don’t eat better, we won’t lose weight. If we eat little, we will not lose weight.
Here are some ideas of foods that help you lose weight in the summer, to help us take a healthier path.

FOODS THAT MAKE YOU LOSE IN SUMMER

  1. Eat red fruits, including blueberries and raspberries for their amount of antiocyanins, or flavonoids that help reduce abdominal fat with their antioxidant action.
  2. Snacks based on melon and watermelon (better not to reserve them at the end of a meal, because cucurbits contain a lot of water and can slow digestion), for example in the mid-afternoon and morning: to hydrate and counter nervous hunger.
  3. At the end of the meal we can instead opt for a slice of pineapple , especially after eating meat or fish: the pineapple especially in the stem contains bromelain, which promotes digestion and assimilation of proteins.
  4. We supplement our breakfast with a handful of acai berries (you can find them in herbal medicine): they help us counteract water retention.
  5. We eat tropical fruits , which in this heat we find ripe: mango, papaya, avocado, coconut, are excellent fruits for our metabolism, full of vitamins, with a good percentage of amino acids, carbohydrates and fats, will limit our desire for sweets.
  6. And for the salty? Aubergines, courgettes, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.
Low in calories, they allow us to make delicious dishes or sauces (ever tried tzatziki?) And are rich in water.
They can be our first course with the heat, instead of the side dish.

A possible diet plan to follow in the summer that includes these foods can be the following.
Breakfast with skimmed yogurt, red fruit or sliced mango, a sprinkling of açai berries, a teaspoon of honey.
Snack with a slice of watermelon.
Lunch with grilled aubergines or peppers, a portion of meat or fish in a pan, fresh pineapple.
    Snack with watermelon or melon.
Snack with 40 grams of fresh coconut.
Dinner with a dairy product such as a small mozzarella or ricotta, sautéed zucchini or mixed salad, a bread bruschetta with a slice of avocado and tomato.
