Dr. Oz’s Nutritionist Grapefruit Diet

Nutritionist  Kellyann Petrucci’s Grapefruit Diet, presented by Dr Oz Show,  is a detoxifying regimen that revisits the lightning regimen known as the grapefruit diet in a more balanced and healthy way. This regime would in fact allow you to lose up to 1/2 kilo a day, taking advantage of the action of this citrus fruit that contains nootkatone , a chemical compound that has in fact been the focus of various studies in recent years, which would naturally stimulate the metabolism by activating the ‘AMPK, an enzyme that regulates the body’s energy homeostasis. In fact, compared to many “fad diets” the grapefruit diet is probably a very effective diet for stimulating metabolism ( source of a study ).
For this reason, even if personally I do not like single-issue diets and lightning regimes, this diet seems to me of particular interest.

Rules: you eat half a grapefruit with every meal, even the pink variety.
However, being a restrictive diet, it should not be followed for more than 7 days.

Breakfast: coffee or tea, two eggs or 200 grams of cottage cheese or 100 grams of skimmed ricotta or 1 pack of natural skimmed Greek yogurt + half a grapefruit.
Lunch: salad of your choice with a mix of raw vegetables of your choice (no corn, no carrots, no potatoes) with a teaspoon of oil, 100 grams of avocado or a dozen nuts, 1/2 grapefruit.
Dinner: 40 gr of buckwheat or quinoa or amaranth or millet with 150 gr of lean meat of your choice (chicken, turkey, veal) or natural tuna or natural mackerel or 100 gr salmon + salad or mix of grilled vegetables seasoned with apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar or lemon juice, spices and herbs to taste + half a grapefruit.
