Detox foods to try in spring

Spring is a bit like the queen season of detox: we get rid of bad eating habits and a few extra pounds that we have accumulated in winter more easily, the sun begins to be friends again and this helps us to produce more vitamins D, a hormone that is a friend of the figure and good health. Our whole body awakens, and the liver plays a key role in this fantastic natural detoxification process.
If we wanted to focus on detoxifying foods to harmoniously help this process, here are my tips for creating delicious dishes that help us in a natural spring detox path.

DETOX FOODS TO TRY IN SPRING
Radishes:
they contain sulfur, and are therefore crucial vegetables among the detoxifying foods of spring, particularly if we have blocked or dilated skin pores, dull skin, and generally feel intoxicated. I recommend them in salads with raw carrots, lemon juice, mint and cucumbers. If you want to make a single dish, excellent pairing with a little feta and brown rice.
Citrus fruits:a lemon or orange juice in the morning, to give us the charge with vitamin C, with a strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and rebalancing action on the hormonal and immune system. Also good in infusion to mineralize the water, together with cucumbers, mint leaves or fresh basil, celery sticks. Be careful to buy them organic if we want to use the peel.

Strawberries: rich in antioxidants, including vitamin C, reduce the risk of tooth decay. To be avoided in combination with cream and to be avoided if not organic, they can be blended with coconut milk (minimum 60% coconut) for a quick spoon cream or to spread on toasted rye bread, but they also go very well well with some skimmed Greek yogurt and a tablespoon of goji berries and chia seeds. Also excellent in salads, with songino and valerian, a handful of almonds, oil, salt and pepper, slices of goat cheese.
Rhubarb: draining, regulates intestinal function and detoxifies the intestine, it also stimulates digestive processes. We can use it to make jams or cakes or pies.
Asparagus:together with artichokes, they are absolutely to be promoted this season for their purifying and draining action on the kidneys. Try them freshly boiled with eggs or in an omelette, or enjoy the tips with gluten-free buckwheat pasta and spring peas for a healthy and purifying single dish.
Melon: a kidney cleansing fruit that is highly moisturizing and fights cellulite. To be enjoyed between meals or at breakfast paired with a blueberry omelette, or on a pancake with rice and oat flour, cut into small pieces. Better not to associate it with skimmed yogurt.
Plums:they are perfect for those suffering from constipation, but if the peel is a bit difficult, it is better to have them peeled. Excellent sautéed in a pan with a little coconut oil and cinnamon, for those suffering from severe constipation: in this way they should be consumed in the morning. They also eliminate nervous hunger.
