A small, almost incredible little gem that carries the real protagonist of the configuration inside: the Ryzen 9 4900HS . The latter is not alone of course, the company has designed a product that aims at the maximum, with a clearly high price but undoubtedly in line with the competition, and very few shortcomings. So let’s find out all the details of the laptop, available for purchase in different versions.

Elegance and power with the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

As already mentioned, the product has a really tiny tonnage both in the white and the black version, 32.4 cm x 22.2 cm x 1.79 cm , for a total of only 1.6 kg , also well distributed. The aluminum and magnesium surface provides premium feedback for users, reassuring them in the same way about the durability of the device, which is rather solid and resistant. The same goes for the keyboard, the first rather interesting feature of the product; this comes with a rather short stroke , not really suitable for the gaming sector but now a standard in the field of laptops. Buttons are added for adjusting the volume , thedeactivating the microphone , opening the Asus Armory Crate software , and activating the fingerprint reader , integrated on the power button.

The device is equipped with all the necessary connectivity, or almost. We find 2 USB 3.1 type A , 2 USB 3.2 type C , a headphone and microphone jack , the power port and the HDMI output , do you notice any lack? Unfortunately, the network port is not present , a function that would have been particularly pleasing for the gaming world, but which is partly mitigated by the presence of the Wi-Fi 6 standard , accompanied by Bluetooth 5 . On the audio front we are dealing with a more than respectable, not amazing, result. We find a total of 4 speakers, Dolby Atmos support and an integrated microphone, particularly effective. Being a product of the ROG brand, this particularly winks at gamers, but is also excellent for almost any process that requires a lot of power .

To power the machine we find the Ryzen 9 4900 HS processor, former top of the range AMD of the Zen 2 series at 8 nanometers , with 8 Cores , 16 Threads and a clock from 3 GHz up to 4.3 GHz . This also integrates a Vega GPU with 512 Stream Processor , which is however easily set aside by the presence of an RTX 2060 Max-Q . To close the configuration we have a total of 16GB of RAM clocked at 3200Mhz and 1TB of NVMe SSD. The components clearly generate a lot of heat, which is dissipated by the system with relative ease, thanks to the two self-cleaning fans and a particular feature. Once the screen is raised, the product is in fact raised, guaranteeing easier typing and an additional heat output , which after several hours of use – especially if stressful – becomes essential.

Goodbye to the fixed?

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 comes with a Pantone-certified 14-inch IPS screen , which is available as 2K (2560 × 1440) at 60Hz , or Full HD (1920 × 1080) at 120Hz . This last setting is recommended, given the possibilities of the video card, which allows you to juggle any game at a lower resolution with excellent results, and it is not to be neglected also to consider the reduced size of the screen. In any case, the setup is certainly complete and the computer can undoubtedly replace a classic desktop , thanks also to its excellent autonomy of 6 hours with standard use.. Just think also that it can be charged with USB C in just 2 hours, or with the classic power supply in just over an hour.

Thanks to its new gem, Asus therefore brings the functions of the classic most performing PCs in portability , we must clearly consider the various compromises that such a device brings with it, but the fantastic AMD processor allows you to carry out almost any activity in the workplace, while the combination with the RTX 2060 Max-Q also fully covers the gaming world . Surely it is not a PC dedicated in particular to the latter area, as is usually the case for Asus ROG products, but fortunately we are dealing with a complete and versatile product.
