The famous manufacturer of hardware and software for computers AMD, announced today the arrival of two important technologies to improve the experience more and more for both gamers and developers who want to try their hand at tools capable of producing products more and more avant-garde. We are talking about the GPUOpen initiative and more specifically about  TrueAudio Next and version 1.3 of the Advanced Media Framework. Let’s discover together the innovations introduced by AMD to support audio in games with virtual reality and to improve the streaming experience for both creators and users!AMD_Radeon_Graphics_logo-1940x1638AMD TrueAudio Next

Audio is an essential part in creating a fully immersive virtual reality experience, adding a high likelihood to the VR also as regards the sound sector is as important as the attention paid to graphics. A big step forward from what was previously available to developers and part of AMD’s LiquidVR initiative , TrueAudio Next is a scalable technology that allows for real-time rendering of audio effects and, together with Radeon Rays , allows for modeling of full sound range. TrueAudio Next’s open-source libraries will be available on GPUOpen and will provide millions of consumers with audio that’s more accurate and true to the developers’ intentions.

Advanced Media Framework 1.3

The Advanced Media Framework (AMF) 1.3 represents a big step towards high-quality video streaming and recording and is now available in open source form under the MIT license, allowing developers using Radeon graphics cards to create programs for capturing. GPU-based video, for high-quality multimedia streams. Part of the AMD GPUOpen initiative , AMF enables you to leverage AMD Video Engines (VCE and UVD), including APIs for video encoding, decoding, pre-processing and post-processing. The AMF 1.3 SDK can be downloaded for free through GPUOpen and is available to all developers, who will now be able to easily integrate it into their multimedia applications.
