It has been practically 2 generations of consoles that the software houses have been trying to achieve photo-realism. This is a feature that provides for equality between reality and video games: the search began with PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 , but unfortunately this result was never really achieved. Yet according to some developers this reality is practically close: in fact, given the hardware of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scorpio consoles , video games could reach photo-realism.

More precisely, Jamie Fisher , producer of Climax Studios , expressed himself on the subject.

I don’t care what’s inside the box, I’m much more interested in games, ”said the producer. My hope for the next generation of hardware is just that it will be used properly. Photo-realism is inevitable, especially if we continue to increase the power of gaming hardware.
But for me, it’s not something that will entice me to buy. I would be much more attracted to a game with particular and refined graphics, rather than realistic. The man then expressed himself on Project Scorpio and PS4 Pro defining them as an interesting way to intersperse the console generation. As a consumer, I would feel very annoyed to see that after only 3 years my console is out of date.
