New Myprotein bars: 6 layers and only 250 calories

Between a shake and a bar, I am of the opinion that the bar is always the best choice both as a snack and above all as a substitute meal alternative.

I have tried several bars over the years, of the most disparate brands. And I also wanted to try the new 6-layer MyProtein bars, the 6 Layer Bars , which intrigued me because on the surface they seemed very greedy.

This time, however, it is not just appearance.
The MyProtein 6-layer bars are not only beautiful to look at, they are really good and are a huge leap forward compared to other bars of the same brand (apart from perhaps the MyBar Zero which I consider one of their best products among bars).
And they have three advantages over all other protein bars on the market.

NEW 6 LAYER MYPROTEIN BARS: 6 Layer Bars.

The new 6-layer Myprotein bars present themselves immediately with very appetizing flavors: Birthday Cake, Chocolate Ice Cream, Lemon Meringue and Biscuit and Cream .
I tried the first two flavors, which seemed to me a novelty compared to the others.
These are the strengths that I have noticed.

  1. They are good, but not too sweet.
One of the drawbacks of many of the sweet protein foods, whether for sports or as a diet replacement meal, is that they are often cloying. The sweet taste achieved through sweeteners is mostly pronounced, and the common criticism is that a persistent sweetish flavor remains. In the new protein bars from MyProtein, on the other hand, the taste is sweet but not too much.
The flavor of the bar therefore stands out more and not nausea. In short, the bar wins the flavor test.
  2. They have a texture and a mix of fibers that make them very satiating.
Another advantage that makes these bars ideal as a substitute meal is that they are very satiating, they are really satisfying. I tested the bars on 4 different people, and they all reported the same experience. I have consumed bars myself in the past which, despite being from 60 to 75 grams, were eaten in almost nothing. Here, however, the bar is satiated and how, without weighing it down because it is digested quite well. This is thanks to the mix of fibers that have been well dosed in order not to make them indigestible but favor the satiety effect.
I suggest consuming them before or after training if the actual meal is scheduled a few hours later and, I repeat, they seem much more convenient than any replacement meal ever tried for those who want to lose weight and do not want to give up something sweet and satisfying. .
  3. They are not high-protein, but balanced and always dietary for the format.
Despite being 70 gram bars, which satiate more than a sandwich and much more than a shake, these bars have 250 calories, 21 grams of protein (from casein, whey protein and a lower percentage of soy protein) and about nine grams of fat. Carbohydrates are about 18 per bar but have less than 3 grams of simple sugars. Large bars from other companies typically have around 200 calories or more per 60 grams per 21 grams of protein – but they don’t fill in the same way.
Here we have fewer calories, but also a greater sense of satiety and a great taste.
Even if you want to make a smaller snack, these bars can be divided in two and would still be very convenient for the yield. Try to do the same thing with another bar, that is to divide it, and you will feel like you have not eaten anything.I highly recommend them both as a bar for sportsmen, and above all as a greedy way to replace a meal without feeling hungry an hour later and then use them for easy weight loss. Particularly for those who are away from home they are an excellent way to replace lunch. The price is in line with what the product offers.
A pack of 12 bars, weighing 70 grams each, costs around 30 euros.

(ps: As always when I write these reviews, I remind you that I am not affiliated with the company, nor with the other companies whose products I try!)
