Through his official twitter profile, Larry Hryb better known as Major Nelson , announced the compatibility of the Xbox Wireless Adapter (you can see it at this address ) with Windows 7 and 8.1.

The announcement came last day, here is the tweet in question:

Previously the adapter to be able to use the Xbox One controller on a PC, was only compatible with the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system, Windows 10 . Now here’s the compatibility even for previous versions of Windows for those who have decided not to update their operating system to the latest version. Although, we remind you, Windows 10 will be available to everyone, for free, until July 2016.
