What are the contraindications and the use of angelica?

Good evening, a few weeks ago, after some research on angelica, I started taking it – the dose indicated on the package of 4 capsules a day – for about ten days (11), but I had read of cases of hypersensitivity to the herb in question , which could cause bleeding, and unfortunately it happened. I took it to regulate hormones and to aid digestion, suffering from heartburn. I stopped it immediately after noticing some blood loss, the losses stopped, apart from sporadic amber spots, it gives me the impression that I have anticipated my period, even if I have not had major losses anymore, but I seem to be in pre cycle. Among other things, together with the angelica I had taken a vivin c, which being a fluidifying agent, I’m afraid that it has further worsened the situation. I just wanted to have some more news about it, if with the next flow everything will be back to normal if I have to panic. I hope I explained myself well, thanks and best regards.

Hi, the use of Angelica is absolutely contraindicated in cases of heartburn, indeed it makes them worse because it stimulates gastric secretion; if anything it is indicated to promote digestion and to resolve intestinal spasms. Furthermore, Angelica promotes menstruation (so much so that it is indicated precisely for amenorrhea), and contains phytoestrogens that affect her normal estrogenic activity (unless she is in menopause).
