THE WORLD FAMOUS WALKMAN IS READY TO RETURN!

Sony, on the occasion of the forty years since the release of its Walkman, will propose the famous device under a new but all-digital guise.

The Walkman was undoubtedly a revolution and a cult object so loved by several generations that we still hear about it today. Well, today’s news will make the most nostalgic happy, as Sony has decided to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the famous Walkman by designing a new model of music player to be placed on the market.

To be precise, we are talking about two versions of the player presented at IFA 2019 and which will arrive in the coming months. It must be said, however, that these are not portable cassettes as was the original, but rather completely digital devices more similar to MP3 players. Both will be equipped with a USB-C port, Bluetooth, a battery lasting about 26 hours and a 16GB internal memory. The price should be 440 euros for the celebratory model.

The NW-A100TPS model will be marketed with graphics reminiscent of the classic cassette player complete with a logo and 40th anniversary graphics.

The NW-A105 model, on the other hand, will be simpler and less expensive. However, both have the Android operating system including all the features dedicated to audio to improve sound quality such as the S-Maste HX digital amplifier and the DSEE HX processor capable of improving compressed audio; it will also be possible to apply filters such as the vinyl-style one.
