The slimming supplement for menopause
We already knew that it had many positive properties, for example that it reduced the risk of inflammation, the risk of cognitive decline, cholesterol and cardiovascular health risks in general.
But it seems that fish oil , rich in omega3, is also an excellent slimming supplement for menopause.
According to a recent study, in fact, in women who have passed the period of menopause, fish oil in capsules , taken in doses of about 3 grams per day, would have raised the metabolism by 14% in twelve weeks.
- It would have enabled these women to burn about 187 extra calories.
- The only important consideration: the women were in good health and were trying to stay active.
HOW FISH OIL WORKS IN MENOPAUSE
But fish oil would work as a weight loss supplement even with younger subjects .
In fact, in another study, even if very small, the omega 3s of fish oil would have raised metabolism by 3.8 percent in 12 weeks.
This study was conducted on only six samples.
In particular, fish oil would act as a fat burner , improving resting metabolism and pushing it to burn reserve fat.
In both studies, the people involved did NOT change their eating habits.
Other studies have indicated that fish oil capsules reduce the sense of hunger in obese and overweight individuals.Â
