The “Mediterranean” diet to lower cholesterol

It is called mediterrasian diet , a diet that we could translate as “mediterrasian”: a fusion diet, between typically Mediterranean dishes and typically oriental foods, which has been practiced in restaurants all over the world for some time.
In Italy, the Sukkar diet ( you can find it here ) follows this principle: we eat whole grains, legumes, fish, olive oil, vegetables and fruit, but they are integrated with particular foods with high nutritional value typical of the East.
In this way, taking the best from two ancient culinary traditions, it is possible to make a healthy and above all varied diet.
And the mediterrasian diet would be indicated for those suffering from too high cholesterol.

The Mediterranean side is not only represented by things that we find in Italy, but by North African spices, typical Middle Eastern dishes such as hummus, sauces such as tzatziki, feta, felafel, fish such as tuna and swordfish combined with curry and turmeric. On the Asian side, millet, rice noodles, black or red rice, fish oil and fermented foods or products made from legumes enrich the Mediterranean tradition.
The principles of the Mediterranean diet are in fact very similar:
you drink in moderation and only in the main meals
you eat fish and poultry frequently, but you eat red meat in moderation and so sweets
are eaten every day whole grains, legumes, products obtained from legumes , nuts and seeds, fruits and vegetables
olive oil, fish oil, vegetable oils are frequent in condiments
extensive use of spices and herbs
daily movement is recommended
Here (in English) many studies that have in the past dealt with the combination of the Mediterranean and Asian diet for disease prevention cardiovascular, cholesterol reduction, disease risk reduction. To find out more, here is a site dedicated to the Mediterranean diet , in English.
