The hybrid diet: lose 2 pounds a week

A mix between a ketogenic diet and a low glycemic index diet, to lose weight without the side effects of low carb diets. This is the novelty of the hybrid diet , a diet developed by British nutritionist Patrick Holford and science journalist Jerome Burne, which has allowed many of their clients to lose 2 kilos a week without health problems.

But how does the hybrid diet work?
As I said in the introduction, the hybrid diet is a diet that alternates between weeks of low glycemic index carbohydrates and weeks of ketogenic diet. Here’s how to do it.

HYBRID DIET TO LOSE 2 KG A WEEK: HOW IT WORKS

  • In the first two weeks of the diet , low glycemic index carbohydrates are chosen.
  • From the third to the fourth week, a ketogenic plan is followed: therefore a lot of fats and very few carbohydrates.
  • In all weeks, you eat in an eleven hour interval, you don’t eat the rest of the time, so you don’t eat for thirteen hours.
  • From the fifth week, you go back to the low glycemic index plan, and so on. Two weeks of low glycemic index diet, two weeks of ketogenic diet. This is until all excess weight is lost.
  • In maintenance, three weeks of low glycemic index diet and one ketogenic diet are followed: for at least 5 days a week you follow the rule of eating in an eleven hour time window.Let’s see how to follow the hybrid diet on page two.
