A week of shock treatment, detoxifying and draining  thanks to fennel, a low-calorie vegetable particularly rich in mineral salts.

While you’re not particularly fond of single-issue diets, the fennel diet works to deflate and lose at least a pound. It is also balanced. Fennel keeps for a long time and is very versatile in the kitchen.

So why not use fennel to lose some weight in a week?

Here is the outline of the fennel diet.

Think about this diet NOT if you have overweight problems, but as a detoxifying cure if you have been overdoing it at the table lately. It is not a weight loss diet to be repeated for over a week. It is a diet with a deflating and draining effect, as well as low-calorie. So if you have a desire to stay light for a while then you can definitely go on this diet.

FENNEL DIET TO DETOX

Breakfast and snack are the same for every day of the detox diet .

Breakfast (from 7.00 to 9.00).
A glass of lukewarm water with lemon, a cup of unsweetened green tea + a glass of 200ml rice or soy or skim milk + two wholemeal rusks with 2 teaspoons of honey or jam.

Snack for both lunch and dinner.
A juice of a whole fennel, a smoothie with 1/4 of fennel, half a cucumber and a glass of water or a tea with fennel seeds without sugar + a medium carrot

Monday
Lunch.
120 g of potato gnocchi (raw weight) with fresh tomato sauce and basil (a teaspoon of oil for seasoning), 50 g of bresaola carpaccio with rocket and slices of fennel, lemon juice. As an alternative to bresaola: 80 grams of boiled chickpeas in a salad with rocket and fennel.
Dinner.
1 hamburger made with 120 g of minced beef or veal and seasoned with lemon, parsley, salt and pepper. Alternatively: 80 grams of natural tofu.
A cream of fennel and boiled potatoes (100 g of potatoes and a small fennel boiled and pureed with a tablespoon of milk). A fruit like a kiwi.
