The Budwig cream recipe for a healthy breakfast

You may have already heard of the renowned “Budwig cream”.
If you have never heard of it, it is a very healthy breakfast based on a cream of cereals, seeds and fruit that is part of the protocol of Dr. Johanna Budwig (1908-2003), inventor of the Kousmine Method . A food method aimed at the prevention of tumors and degenerative diseases, in which meat and animal fats are limited.

In this article we will see the original recipe of Budwig cream with variations to be able to prepare it at home. It is a quick and easy preparation, very satiating and complete with all the key nutrients to start the day in the best possible way.

Not only that, but the Budwig cream allows you to get full until lunch, it is easy to digest and has a low glycemic load which makes it suitable even for diabetics and those with a slow metabolism. Let’s see the original recipe taken from the Kousmine method and the variants. To make it you will need a food processor or blender, a mixer or the Bimbi.

Budwig cream recipe: original recipe

one and a half tablespoons of flax seeds or alternatively a teaspoon of flaxseed flour or flaxseed oil
2 toasted walnuts or 3-4 toasted almonds
125 grams of cottage cheese or 100 grams of ricotta or 125 grams of Greek yogurt or 75 grams of natural tofu
a tablespoon of whole oat flakes
the juice of half a lemon
100 grams of seasonal fruit such as kiwi, peach, pear, apricot, apple or red fruit or even a mix: this fruit can also be added in pieces at the end of the preparation.
one hundred grams of banana or a teaspoon of honey.

Once you have taken all the ingredients, blend them together and you will have a creamy mixture, to be eaten by the spoon.
You can customize it with a little cinnamon and combine it with a hot or cold drink for breakfast.

It tastes really good, and if you want you can add more: goji berries, for example. The variants allow you to get a different cream every time. For vegans who do not tolerate soy, it is possible to use a hectogram of cannellini beans or fermented coconut yogurt or rice instead of tofu ( see also: vegan budwig cream ).
