The anti-inflammatory bowel diet

The anti-inflammatory bowel diet

The anti- inflammatory diet for the intestine arrives in Italy thanks to a manual written by prof. Silvio Danese of the Humanitas clinic, and accompanied by the recipes of Marco Bianchi.

It is a guide book to combat intestinal inflammation at the table , with dietary advice for various chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases (IBD).
For example, Chron’s disease or ulcerative cololitis.

But it is also a useful book for those with mild intestinal inflammation symptoms or those not related to specific pathologies.
And he wants to take care of them at the table.
For example , saying no to foods that are not recommended , that is:

  1. Ready-made foods, which are full of additives that irritate the intestine
  2. Packaged snacks and sweet products, where hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils are still used
  3. Sweet and carbonated drinks but also alcoholic drinks
  4. Beverages with caffeine
  5. Candy and chewing gum, which often contain polyols, a class of sugars that causes intestinal fermentation

In fact, Dr. Danese explains: “there is no doubt that there is a correlation between diet and some common symptoms, such as bloating and abdominal pain”.

The author, Professor Silvio Danese , is the head of the Chronic Inflammatory Intestinal Diseases Center of Humanitas, and has developed seven diet menus with the collaboration of Dr. Ambra Ciliberto, dietician, and Mariangela Allocca, gastroenterologist.

Among the diet menus we find the low-fiber diet, the lactose-free diet, the probiotic diet and the liquid diet for intestinal rest.

And 35 recipes by Marco Bianchi to complete the work.
