Symptoms of premenopause: can a diet slow them down?

Can a diet slow down the symptoms of premenopause , or even slow down the rhythms of our biological clock, and cause us to go into menopause later? Conversely, can a diet cause us to go through menopause prematurely ? According to researchers from the  School of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Leeds, England, nutrition and premenopausal symptoms may be related: for example, women who eat a lot of baked goods, low-quality confectionery , full of excipients, refined flours, seem to suffer premenopausal symptoms in advance. On the contrary, although it is not yet possible to speak of a cause-effect relationship, experts have highlighted how better eating habits can slow down the female biological clock.

SYMPTOMS OF PREMENOPAUSE.
GOOD HABITS AT THE TABLE AND NOT ONLY

  1. Eating more fish, especially blue fish, is related to a “delay” in menopause of about three years, eating fresh legumes for a year.
  2. An increase in the diet of foods that naturally contain zinc and B6 is associated with a “delayed” onset of premenopausal symptoms: fresh peas, sunflower or pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate for zinc; lean meats, fish, leafy vegetables and whole grains for B6.
  3.  Symptoms of premenopause would arrive a year and a half earlier if a lot of industrial products and refined grains are consumed.
  4. In women who have not had children, lean but quality meats such as poultry and turkey and consumption of antioxidant-rich fruits such as grapes are associated with a delayed onset of premenopause.
  5. Physical activity, consumption of seasonal fruit and vegetables and nutritious foods affect the timing of menopause, slowing its onset.
