From what emerges from the study, there are many substances that can improve the immune defenses against viruses that attack the respiratory system. Vitamins A, E and D, vitamin C, zinc, selenium, vitamin B9.
Therefore aged cheeses, fish and especially shellfish, olive oil, citrus fruits, almonds and leafy vegetables can help support the immune system. Parallel to these data, there are some compounds that have given encouraging results on the immune system’s response to respiratory and inflammatory syndromes.
They are contained in garlic, cinnamon, green tea, coffee, broccoli and other cruciferous plants, grapes, red wine, turmeric, citrus fruits (especially in the peel), licorice and honey.
