Stones and crystals: positive energy

Stones and crystals: positive energy

The world of crystals and stones has been used for millennia for their positive energies for the psychophysical balance and harmony of people. Is there a scientific basis behind all this?

Stones and crystals: positive energy

In the vast universe of alternative medicines we also find  crystal therapy , an unorthodox and heterogeneous discipline that involves the use of stones and crystals to help the psychophysical health of the peronse.

It is a series of methodologies of particularly ancient origin , based on the principle of vibratory resonance particularly dear to various cultures, among which we mention the Chinese alchemical tradition, Tibetan lamaism, traditional Indian medicines, Mesoamerican religions, and shamanic culture. spread all over the globe.

But let’s start by defining what is meant by stone and what is meant by crystal .

Difference between stone and crystal

By stone we mean any fragment of rock , usually of limited dimensions. Rock is a collection of various minerals generally microcrystalline or amorphous (spathic), without a true coherent crystalline habit.

The crystal, on the other hand, is a single individual , as it is called in mineralogy, belonging to a single specific crystalline species, and therefore has a precise chemical formula and a defined crystalline habit. Depending on the conditions of genesis (pressure and temperature) the crystal dress may or may not be perfect.

There are thousands of mineral species , which also include what we commonly call metals: copper, gold, silver and other species, occur in nature also as native (pure) elements in the form of crystals.

The electromagnetic power of stones and crystals

Due to their chemical and geometric perfection , crystals are considered much more powerful in crystallotherapy than mere stones. The precise and fixed formula concentrates specific types of energy and the crystalline form makes it coherent, concentrates and directs it, a bit like what happens with diffused light that is concentrated in the laser beam.

But not all crystals are suitable for crystal therapy : some contain and release toxic or radioactive elements.

Although official medicine and the scientific world in general do not give credit to crystal therapy and do not believe in the powers of stones and crystals, especially when related to the world of spiritual energies or to beings belonging to mythology, such as elves and fairies, there is no doubt, and scientificame, nte proven, that stones and crystals emit various forms of energy and therefore have an effect on the surrounding.

Just take our inert-looking crystals and place them in the dark under a Wood lamp to discover that they emit otherwise invisible colored lights, i.e. electromagnetic waves that act on us as all other lights do, visible on another scale. and invisible, such as ultraviolet and infrared.

The voice of plants has recently been discovered , i.e. the possibility of translating the electromagnetic frequencies produced by plants into sound (sometimes music).

This is undoubtedly also possible with stones and, of course, with the human being. On this basis of interconnection of electromagnetic waves, crystal therapy is based.

Crystal therapy in the new age

In addition to this pseudoscientific basis still in the embryonic and experimental phase , there is also the new age aspect that goes beyond science and, on balance, does not even seek approval.

In this field, crystals and stones are connected to some divination techniques or other so-called supernatural techniques, such as working on the aura, the connection with the chakras, psychometry or magnetization . According to some, the crystals are impregnated with the memory of the places and the people who handle them.

Therefore they can be “charged” with positive energies to be reused when needed. In reverse, crystals can also be “read” or “listened to” (psychometrics), and draw from them information about the past, about a given environment or a given person.

Charging a crystal is called magnetization , a phenomenon that occurs spontaneously but can also be done scientifically and voluntarily.

However, removing all memories from a crystal is called demagnetization , a process that often involves lunar cycles and serves to prepare a crystal for a new job.
