Soon on the market Plenity, the anti-hunger pill
It will be marketed in America starting from autumn 2020, and probably in Europe and we will find it from 2021 or the end of 2020. It is Plenity, an anti-hunger pill whose Dcomedieta had already given the news by explaining the mechanism of action .
HOW THE ANTI-FAME PILL WORKS
This pill, made by the pharmaceutical company Gelesis , has passed all FDA quality standards, and has been approved for trade. This was after studies showed that Plenity could reduce weight in overweight or obese people by more than 5% of initial body weight without dietary changes in a period of six months.
A quarter of the participants, however, lost more than 10%.
The Plenity anti-hunger pill works by creating a gel that works in the intestine, called a hydrogel. Basically these are gelatin pills (of porcine derivation) contain particles of citric acid and cellulose.
Together arriving in the intestine they form the hydrogel, which absorbs water and grows one hundred times its volume, thus blocking hunger through a feeling of premature fullness.
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS WHEN USING PLENITY
Obviously, to buy Plenity at the pharmacy it will take a doctor’s prescription and also his observation. In over 30% of the cases treated in the last study, the side effects of the anti-hunger pill were found to be intestinal in nature, while only 2 cases out of over 400 had an infectious problem.
EFFECTS IN WEIGHT LOSS
This pill naturally reduces the urge to eat, as we have seen, by creating a gel pad that occupies part of the stomach.
Considering a weight loss of 5% of the total body weight in 6 months, this however means that an individual who weighs 150 kilos without changing their diet can hope with Plenity to lose 7 to 8 kilos in 6 months.
Therefore the best thing would be to combine the pill with a low-calorie diet, perhaps even a moderate one. And review your eating habits to lose more weight in agreement with your doctor, and under his observation.
