Personalized diet: what are the characteristics?
It seems obvious to everyone what are the characteristics that a personalized diet must have, and why it is the only type of diet that can lead us to the desired weight loss results: finding a formula that is the same for everyone is impossible, since each of us has a different hormonal profile, it is genetically different (and yes, even genetics count on how thin or fat we are), it has a different metabolism and bacterial flora also in response to its dietary experience, that is to all the choices it has made and habits food that you had before deciding to lose weight. This is just to consider the factors that most differentiate us from each other.
Of course, we already know that being a man or a woman and physical characteristics such as age, weight and height matter in prescribing a personalized diet, so let’s move on.
Let’s say that, for the reasons explained above, we have finally understood that we have to make a personalized diet: who do we turn to? I always recommend that you consult a dietician or nutritionist. I remind you that it is possible to become a nutritionist without having a medical degree, so make sure yours is a nutritionist and nothing else. In both cases we are dealing with a doctor. It is assumed that the doctor in question will treat you not as a client, but as a patient, and will therefore prescribe you, before the diet :
– blood tests : the blood tests to be done before a weight loss program are (at least): CBC (complete), Glycemia, Creatinine, Basal Insulin, Total cholesterol, HDL and LDL, Triglycerides, Uricemia, AST, ALT, PCR , TSH, VES. As you can see, there is also TSH, whose parameters will allow the doctor to evaluate the health of your thyroid, but you can also ask to have tests for T3 and T4.
– a complete urine examination with sediment: through the analysis of urinary sediments it is possible to understand which macronutrients we assimilate better and which do not. Poor digestion of a particular macronutrient (for example carbohydrates or proteins) leaves a particular “waste” in the urine.
Of course it is also okay if you have brought these exams with you, the important thing is that they are recent.
Is the doctor a dietician or nutritionist but does NOT prescribe any tests? Greet him cordially and go.
