PANASONIC: HERE ARE THE FIRST VR GLASSES WITH INTEGRATED HDR

During CES 2020 Panasonic presented its virtual reality proposal, the first with lenses that can also support HDR.

There is now little more than a day to go until the end of CES 2020, the conference that is currently taking place in Nevada from which new news in tech, gaming and more is constantly arriving. Among these we point out one of the most interesting that has held its own in the last few hours, or the new virtual reality glasses produced by Panasonic.

During the conference, the Japanese house delighted its audience thanks to this prototype of glasses, with a decidedly Steampunk style , capable of supporting HDR images without any screen door effect. The panels mounted inside are 0.99 ″ 2K (2048 × 2048 pixels) OLEDs designed in collaboration with Kopinand, according to the testimonies of those who have been able to try them, they guarantee really high resolution and image quality. HDR support (the first time ever that this technology has been implemented on virtual reality glasses) also gives the Panasonic project a truly amazing overall quality. Inside there is also its own audio technology, including Technics drivers that guarantee a more dynamic sound.

Certainly there are some negative points. As reported by The Verge, one of the demos featured at CES had limitations. The micro OLED panels mounted were smaller than what was actually declared and the viewing angle is lower when compared to other models already available on the market. Finally, the excessive heaviness compared to other widely used devices was reported. At the conference stand, however, there were two models, among these one included only a USB-C cable that passed from one end of the glasses to the other and which turns out to be definitely the version closest to the final one.

All that remains is to discover Panasonic ‘s plans for the future in this field.
