The sixth edition of the Rome technology fair, or the Maker Faire Rome 2018 , which will be held from 12 to 14 October 2018, will experience the inclusion of a new area entirely dedicated to space technology and travel among the stars, called ” Makers for Space “.
This initiative was initiated by the  British Interplanetary Society and the School of Aerospace Engineering of the La Sapienza University of Rome . In the exhibition catalog of this “reserved” space we can find the following main attractions:
- The legendary Apollo Guidance Computer (on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo program )
- AÂ 1:10 scale Saturn V rocket
- a San Marco satellite with a representation of the fourth stage of the Scout rocket
- 3 space flight simulators with which the public can interact.
- Other original historical artifacts related to the world of space exploration will be exhibited
- The exhibition stands of the two institutions that organized the space exhibition
During the exhibition there will be several special guests, such as  Don Eyles , programmer and engineer at MIT , who created part of the software for all Apollo missions landed on the moon , working on the then newly invented Apollo Guidance Computer .
Another prominent guest will be  Mark Hempsell , a prominent British engineer and current president of The British Interplanetary Society. Furthermore, this important figure was for years the editor of the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society . What do you think of this interesting addition to Maker Faire Rome 2018 ? Are you interested in the fair? Let us know yours with a comment!
