Lose Weight Effectively with Mindfulness (ABBT) Therapy
It is called Acceptance-Based Behavioral Treatment (called ABBT or ABT) and it is a therapy that has proved successful also for effectively losing weight and for keeping body weight under control, but above all against anxiety and eating behavior disorders: we see in this article how such an approach can help us lose weight, manage our eating problems and improve the relationship with ourselves.
Acceptance-Based Behavioral Treatment for effective weight loss: the
Interventions study on one’s eating and daily behavior, according to a 2014 study , are useful strategies for effectively losing weight, especially in the short term. For example, we intervene in our eating and lifestyle behavior when we reduce calories or control them , or decide to go to the gym. But how can we get to implement these strategies in the long term, without losing motivation and also continuing to have results?
One of these strategies can be behavioral therapy that aims to have a better awareness of ourselves and our goals ( mindfulness ). More precisely, Acceptance-Based Behavioral Treatment teaches the patient about the approaches (skills) to improve nutrition and lifestyle through these steps:
– learn to know and accept all those negative feelings and perceptions that make it difficult for us to continue to dieting: frustration, guilt, fatigue, craving for junk foods. Feelings that are normal, not abnormal. – learn to focus on your goals:
– develop greater awareness around food: intuitive eating is the process whereby, listening to our body and its real needs, we choose what to eat, and we are not victims of food and the thoughts around it.
– learn to maintain a healthy dietary approach and a healthy lifestyle even after losing weight: this is a time-consuming process, but which paradoxically is much more difficult than the diet itself. Losing weight is much easier than maintaining your new weight. This explains why so many people try more than one diet in their life. It doesn’t fail the diet itself, it’s a challenge to stay lean if you don’t know how to do it.
The first step is up to us.
Remembering every day (by saying it to yourself, in the sense of declaring it to yourself in words) the reason why we follow a certain diet, we inform ourselves, we go to the gym or follow other forms of training, strengthens our daily gestures, reduces stress, it helps to focus on a better future shape.
These things seem like gross nonsense, but they actually work . Having confidence in oneself, in one’s abilities, being able to defend one’s choices, believing in what we do and not being overcome by laziness, from so much it is useless, etc., are things that help much more than the fat burning supplement or the modeling slipper.
