When we are about to buy a monitor, especially if it is a high-end monitor, it is always good to evaluate the pros and cons to see if it is well suited to the characteristics we are looking for, thus avoiding spending a lot of money to remain dissatisfied. Precisely for this reason it is necessary to choose the product in question carefully so as to make the most informed choice possible. So let’s go today to test the LG 38WK95C , what on paper looks like one of the best curved monitors on the market. So are you ready to discover the strengths and weaknesses of this 38-inch screen?
Packaging
Opening the box that contains the LG 38WK95C  we immediately notice a normal packaging, which however contains a screen of great value. Inside, in addition to the monitor and all the components related to it (such as the precious stand), we also find an HDMI cable, a DisplayPort cable, a USB-C cable and the power supply with generous dimensions and weight (17, 3 x 3.8 x 8 cm), which do not always represent a value.
Design
At first glance  , the LG 38WK95C gives us a feeling of solidity and quality, the construction of this screen is indeed excellent and the base on which it rests is extremely stable. As already mentioned, this imposing monitor rests on an equally large pedestal that allows the buyer to manage the height of the screen as he prefers ; this can in fact be placed at a minimum of 10 cm from the base, up to a maximum of 20 cm from the base. But that’s not all, in fact, thanks to the VESA 100 × 100 attachment on the back, the LG 38WK95C can be conveniently hung on the wall or on a desk stand. It is interesting LG’s choice to propose very fine bezels (11 mm) on this monitor, which make it a truly elegant object.
The LG 38WK95C also features a large amount of different inputs that can easily adapt to whatever needs the buyer has.  In fact, we find two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.2, a DVI port, two USB Type A ports and a USB Type C port capable of powering external devices with a maximum power of 60 watts. There is obviously also a 3.5mm jack for audio output and input for the power supply.

Performance
After having properly analyzed design and technical specifications, we just have to talk about the performance of this monitor. Through a joystick placed in the central part of the screen frame it is possible to access  a truly complete OSD,  which allows us to navigate not only between the video and audio options, but also to select pre-set modes (gaming, reading and so on. ) then going to modify them as desired.
Thanks to a very low input lag , we are talking about only 5 milliseconds, and its IPS panel of considerable quantity,  the LG 38WK95C really proves to be one of the best monitors currently on the market . The color rendering is truly amazing and HDR manages to give its best with both video games and multimedia content. Moreover, thanks to the considerable  angle of curvature of the screen  , the buyer is completely absorbed by the action.
If we really wanted to find defects in this monitor we could say that the contrast ratio is not so high (remember that it is an IPS screen), and that in some very particular cases it is possible to witness some  backlight bleeding phenomena , due to the backlight. However, there are all small defects to pass over without the slightest problem.

If you are looking for a great monitor to use for both work and gaming and you have a rather high budget, then the LG 38WK95C is definitely a great choice. In fact, today it is possible to buy it on Amazon for just under 1100 euros, well 400 euros less than the list price (1499 euros). This screen proves to be a real asset for professionals working in the field of graphic editing, but it is an excellent purchase even for the most avid gamers thanks to a very low input lag and a very high curvature (2200R) that allows the player to immerse themselves completely. in the game. There is little to say: if your wallet allows it, this monitor is certainly one of the best choices you can consider.
