Ketogenic diet, coach Jillian Michaels advises you against it

I don’t like Jillian Michaels , the famous coach we’ve seen on TV shows like The Biggest Loser . I find her aggressive, and I never liked her methods when she was a trainer in these programs. However, letting go of the emotional side, I often agree with what Michaels says about fitness, nutrition, and weight loss myths . I recently saw an interview of her in which, analyzing the instagram photos of many fit models, she explained that the right light, the right clothes and above all some help are the hidden weapons of many amazing curves that only physical activity does not gives. If you do squats, you will never get a very round and exaggerated butt as we see in many facebook or instagram posts . And even from a dietary standpoint, Michaels seems to know the fact of her. As in the case of the ketogenic diet: the famous trainer explains in an interview the reasons why she does not recommend the ketogenic diet.

KETOGENIC DIET: WHY JILLIAN MICHAELS SAYS NO
1) Because it makes us age earlier: too many fats and few carbohydrates in the long run are a stress for the body, not only mental, but precisely at the level of free radicals and cellular oxidative stress ( here a study ).
2) Why has it become the excuse to eat junk food: how many times thinking about ketogenic does it occur to us that we can freely eat sausages, cheeses, mayonnaise and fried food without gaining weight? In reality, even in low carb diets the quality of food and calories matter. 3) Why you don’t need ketogenic to stay healthy:

if you want to reduce insulin peaks it is much better to eat balanced and moderate meals and reduce packaged foods that are too high in sugar. You don’t need to cut out carbohydrates, because if you want an efficient metabolism, then carbohydrates are needed. Ketones are a B-grade energy resource: the body uses fat when we don’t eat (fast between meals) or when it’s resting.
Jillian Michaels is the first fitness star to bluntly advise against the ketogenic diet at a time when it is very fashionable: this is the interview with her. And she repeats that the rules for losing weight are few and simple: eat healthy, eat less and exercise.
