I see the room spinning like a top, what does it depend on?

Monday night I woke up and opening my eyes suddenly I saw my head spin like a top, the room turned all around me from left to right and vice versa depending on the position I assumed. I tried to lie down again and the speed increased. Only by sitting down did the spinning slow down, all of which was accompanied by nausea and vomiting . As I felt the sense of nausea my head was spinning and I lost my balance. Then I felt the pain in my neck increase and I got a severe headache. In the morning I asked the doctor for information and he told me that this was due to the cervical arthrosis that I have from time to time. He told me to have a levopraid injection for the pain but the pain didn’t go away at all and I continued to suffer all day. I state that for the previous 24 hours I had suffered from cervical disorders and I had taken a brufen to make me pass them and I was fine. But in all the other times it had never happened to me that my head was spinning like a top. Could you tell me what could have caused it and what treatment is more effective to use to combat these ailments? Thank you very much

Hello, evidently your problem has clearly worsened. I have treated a similar problem very well with reflexology as a symptom improvement and maintenance treatment. What is certain is that first I referred the person to a physiotherapist, an essential operation for lasting and serious results. Locally, you can apply warm salt wrapped in a cloth and massaging with soothing essential oils. However, all this does not replace the action of an expert hand, as I explained earlier. This is because he will be able to advise you on specific exercises for you and recommend suitable positions to be taken even during rest. I hope I have helped her. Sincerely. Cinzia Zedda

Hi, I hope that the symptoms have diminished in the meantime. From how he described everything, it seems to me more a problem of the inner ear, that is a so-called BENIGN POSITIONAL PAROXYSISTIC VERTIGO which, due to the presence of otoliths, triggers objective vertigo, nausea and vomiting. The concomitant situation of the cervical is in fact one of the predisposing factors. So I advise you to pay a visit with an Otorino Vestibologist, if these imposing dizziness still persist and then to start a rehabilitation for the cervical tract. Keep me informed and have a nice day.

Dear Reader, the symptoms you accuse, I think may in the first instance depend more than on cervical problems, on the ear, precisely a pathology of the vestibule (organ of balance), which often causes dizziness / dizziness even when lying down, for a moment detachment of the otoliths (small components of the innermost part of the cochlea), which can be rebalanced by a special maneuver by a good Otorino, to whom I advise you to contact. If the disturbance persists, even after the ENT examination, then the cervical situation should be revered. Sincerely Dr. L Tocall
