Hunger cramps and tapping to overcome them

tsppingditaAccording to a study conducted at Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital, by a medical team headed by Dr. Richard Weil, hunger cramps and nervous hunger, or that desire to tease often and especially fatty foods and sugars, not always correlated to true hunger but, as an advertisement for famous chocolates said “it is more desire for something good”, can be stemmed with a simple trick of a few seconds.
The question that Dr. Weil asked himself is in fact the following: is there a trick or some mental trick we can do to avoid hunger cramps , especially when we don’t really need to eat (otherwise they would be more than motivated) but do we just have cravings? According to Dr. Weil the tricks exist, even if they don’t work for everyone : for many people who go to the pantry to nibble on something, it is enough to stare at a white wall for a few seconds to pass the hunger, or at least to be able to resist it.

For others, push your big toes against the floor. Finally, for most of the study participants, the most effective and fastest way to get rid of the nervous hunger was the most bizarre: pressing the fingertips against the forehead , in a kind of pat of the forehead and head with the fingers of the hand. , which in English is called “tapping”. In fact, we already knew that tapping, even facial (or body or finger), was beneficial for relieving nervous hunger and in general relieving stress: another study had talked about it last spring as a method to lose weight. In fact, it seems that the finger-pressure and the tapping of the head, face, meninges, fingers, body, arms give us back that mental clarity that we lack when we have a craving for something to eat.

Will it work for you too?
