Today at the MWC in Barcelona, the release date and price of the HTC Vive , a VR device born from the collaboration between Valve and HTC , were announced .

The price of the headset will be $ 799 and will be a whopping 200 € higher than the rival Oculus which has created a lot of discussion due to its 600 €. Who knows how users who have opted for HTC Vive will react after this news.

Along with the announcement of the price, as already mentioned, the launch date of the device was also announced which will be April 1st (no, it’s not a joke) and pre-orders will be available starting from February 29th . Along with these news HTC also showed some images of the Retail version of the device which you can see below.

The kit will consist of the viewer itself, 2 dedicated controllers and the 2 lightbar sensors designed by HTC for the room scale experience , but it does not end there because inside we will also find two games , Job Simulator: The 2050 Archivies that will catapult us into a dominated world from robots and Fantastic Corporation where, from what has been said, the only limit is our imagination.

A very important feature that we will also find in the device is the possibility of connecting the HTC Vive with our smartphone via bluetooth so that we can receive calls and read messages without taking off the viewer. What do you think of it? Have you already pre-ordered the Oculus or were you hopeful in the Valve signed viewer ?
