How to shop smarter (and cheaper)

How to shop smartly, avoiding buying things we know are temptations for us.

And maybe even avoiding to buy unhealthy or even more expensive foods?

Here are some tips that can help you save money.
Without filling the shopping cart with low-nutritious foods.

HOW TO SHOPPING IN A SMART WAY

  1. First of all , I always recommend eating something before going shopping , or even having it immediately after breakfast or after lunch or a snack.
In fact, with a full stomach, many foods seem less attractive to us and we will buy the essentials.
  2. The second very important thing is, of course, to make a shopping list .
The list allows us to focus on needs first. So we won’t buy unnecessary things and rely on meal planning to figure out what to include on the list and what not.
  3. The third thing is to use the departments that do not interest us , such as the one for children, stationery, the one for animals or detergents, as preferential corridors to get to the departments where instead we have to stop. I pass by the corridor where it is full of snacks, in all likelihood I will be tempted to an unwanted purchase.
  4. Foods such as meat, fresh fish and cured meats must be purchased last.
  5. This is for hygiene reasons.
First of all, they must never be in close contact with the base of the trolley, which is very dirty and full of germs or traces of other foods.
Secondly, the fresher the food, the more it risks deteriorating and producing unwanted bacteria on the way home.
  6. Finally, it is better to focus on simple, basic products , dividing spending into macro-categories.
That is fruit, vegetables, legumes, cereals, meat, fish, cheeses and cured meats, and always choosing alternatives with fewer ingredients and not even any added ingredient.
Focusing on simplicity is the best way to make a healthy diet, for example: minced meat instead of ready-made hamburgers.
  7. Finally, we always take a look at products positioned very high or very low in relation to our height.
On the shelves outside our field of vision you can often find cheaper products or even local ones.
