How to find out who views your WhatsApp status
Let’s face it right away to be clear: when a contact sees a status you posted on WhatsApp, you can know who they are and when they viewed it. This is the general rule, but there are exceptions. In this post I will explain better how to find out who is viewing your WhatsApp status and other things to know about the new status.
Find out who views your WhatsApp status
Do this (on both Android and iPhone or other models):
- Open WhatsApp and go to ” Status ” (bottom left)
- Click on ” My status “
- Swipe ( slide your finger up) on the state you want to check
Et voilà , the information you were looking for will appear: who and when viewed your status.
But it is not certain that you will be able to see all WhatsApp status views. Someone may have been clever or you have some “out of place” setting.
Let’s see in detail.
Why can’t I see status views on WhatsApp?
I have heard many similar cases:
Are you sure someone has viewed your WhatsApp status but you don’t see it in the list.
Here are the 3 reasons why it can happen:
- You have deactivated the read receipt on your phone and therefore you cannot see the read receipts from other people (the so -called blue double check ) or who is viewing your status. To activate it go to WhatsApp -> Settings -> Accounts -> Privacy and activate the Confirmation of reading.
- The contact has activated a privacy option and has excluded you from viewing the statuses (below you will find a specific study for this case)
- The contact viewed your status by activating airplane mode on his smartphone (and therefore was good at leaving no traces).
Restrict status displays
Let’s go back to point number 2. WhatsApp gives you the possibility to limit the status views by deciding who to show them to!
You can decide to show your status updates to:
- All contacts
- No contact
- Just a few contacts
To change this settings go to Settings -> Accounts -> Privacy -> Status and choose one of the three options available.
