How to change language on WhatsApp
I think you have already noticed it yourself: WhatsApp does not have a specific setting to change the language of use of the app, but it automatically sets itself with the main language you have selected for your mobile device.
What if I use the phone in one language (for example in Italian) but I want to use WhatsApp in another language (for example in English)?
No problem, it’s easier than you think.
To change the language of WhatsApp you will need to change this setting from the main phone options. Let’s see how to do it based on the phone model you use.
How to change the language of WhatsApp on iPhone
- Go to Settings -> General -> Language and region
- Click on the option for language preference
- From the drop-down list, choose the language you want.
- Click on Done (upper right corner)
After clicking to complete and save the changes, your iPhone will restart with the new language and WhatsApp will also “speak” this new language.
How to change the language of WhatsApp on Android
Just like the iPhone, Android devices also allow you to easily change the language on your phone.
- Go to Settings
- Click on Language and keyboard
- Click on New language and select the one you want.
How to change WhatsApp language on Windows phone
- Go to Settings
- Click on Time and language
- Click on Add language and select the one you want.
For these changes to take effect, simply choose the restart option located at the top of the screen.
WhatsApp and Google Translator on Android
For quick translations , please note that Android devices are capable of using Google Translator. No other make or model offers this. If you are an Android user, download Translator from the Google Play Store and WhatsApp will do the rest.
