Haylie Pomroy and her diet The Burn
The popularity of Haylie Pomroy , inventor of the Supermetabolism Diet and one of the most popular nutritionists in the United States, shows no signs of diminishing: Haylie is a host of broadcasts and often talks about hormonal diet, metabolism diet and superfood diet , the three topics that they are all the rage these days . As if that were not enough, this “genius of metabolism” has developed a new diet, launched last December in an episode of Dr. Oz’s show , and of which I have already mentioned something just at Christmas. This new diet is called The Burn ,and it is a regime of only ten days, but which can also be done for only three or five days, depending on our needs. That is:
– for 3 days if we feel swollen, with bags under the eyes and dark circles, water retention problems and pants that tighten at the wais
– for 1o days if you have gained unexplained weight, you feel depressed or irritable, you have dull hair that tends to fall out, you are out of energy.
In the Burn ( the book has meanwhile been translated into Italian, click here for details ) three dietary solutions are offered: in that of 3 days you lose a kilo, in that of 5 almost two and in that of 10 you lose three abundant kilos . The problem is that Pomroy apparently made a big mistake: The Burn diet consists of drinking some kind of slimming tea, a slimming juice and a soup with a one-day-to-repeat pattern in which you can do the appropriate replacements. For those who decide to do it anyway, find all the details of the diet in the first article I wrote in December .
The comments that in the meantime I have managed to collect are not only exciting, I will summarize them for you.
– Many people have tried Haylie Pomroy’s super metabolism diet, lost some weight which they all got back. Then they went through the diet again, to no avail. To write here myself, I tried it for a week (I didn’t have to lose weight at all) and I reviewed it here.
– The same then bought The Burn hoping for a quick weight loss. Many negative opinions: soup and smoothie in particular seem disgusting and make you lose the desire to eat. Some have experienced worsening bloating and constipation.
– Some people find the diet expensive and organizationally problematic.
Diet is to be avoided.
In short, Haylie Pomroy suffers the same problem that all those who write a successful book on diets have and turn into a colossal bussiness of diets, with all the interest not to make you lose weight, but to make you buy. On the other hand, after all the fuss about metabolism contained in the first book, how can we believe that in ten days our metabolism is rearranged? And how come people who have been on the Supermetabolism diet have gained weight? Hadn’t they gotten a fast metabolism? What, has his car jammed ???
